The sports information director publicizes the athletic and academic accomplishments of student-athletes and coaches in the Rose-Hulman athletic department. The director coordinates local, regional and national media coverage, along with internet webpages for 22 varsity sports teams.

In addition, the sports information director produces media guide publications, calculates in-game statistics for athletic events, and coordinates live broadcasts on WMHD-FM 90.7.

Student-athletes are nominated for awards in both the academic and athletic arenas, and the director also helps host major NCAA Division III Regional and National events such as the Women's Basketball Final Four, the Track and Field Indoor National Championships, and the Baseball Mideast Regional.
