Biomedical Engineering

Biology II

Why

We were allowed to dissect animal hearts and lungs without having a concrete plan of attack. We also got to learn about a majority of the biological processes within the human body, allowing me to really investigate the human body from an engineering perspective.

Favorite Professor

Phillip Cornwell

Why

He took one of the hardest courses at Rose-Hulman, Conservation & Accounting Principles (ConApps), and made it easy. He added humor to the classroom and forced you to be the best student you could be.

Why Rose-Hulman

I chose Rose-Hulman because of the incredible family atmosphere that exists here. To be able to approach the Dean of Students and have him know your name, all of your interests and activities is an overwhelming relief. Rose-Hulman allows you to be who you are an accepts you for it. It is truly the people here that makes this campus one of a kind.

Life at Rose-Hulman

Life at Rose-Hulman is rewarding. You work hard every day inside and outside of the classroom working towards a highly respectable degree. All of your professors and classmates are there to help. It's the experiences you receive here as a student which makes life at Rose-Hulman so rewarding.

Being a Female Student at Rose-Hulman

Is a one of a kind experience. You are treated just like one of the guys! I often forget I am a minority in this regard on campus. I think this is a good thing.

Why Engineering

I chose engineering because I showed an interest in math and science but wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do yet. Engineering is a great degree to have, even if you aren't 100 percent sure on what you would like to do. You can do almost anything with an engineering degree. So, if you're willing to work hard for four years and earn the degree, you won't be disappointed.

Why Being A Resident Assistant

What better way to express your love for this campus than by being an RA?! RAs help to shape Rose-Hulman’s family community. RAs work hard to make sure students adapt well to college life and make sure everything goes smoothly throughout the year. This position also allows you to meet tons of new people on campus and teaches you how to balance responsibility with school and fun.

Best Aspect About Rose-Hulman

The incredible bond that students have with their professors.

What I Wished Someone Had Told Me About Rose-Hulman Before Arriving

I wish they had told me that I was about to embark on the best four years of my life and to not be nervous!

What Are Your Future Goals & Aspirations

Once I graduate Rose-Hulman, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in biomedical engineering. Eventually I would like to enter the work force as a well-rounded female engineer.
