I love learning how our body works and these classes went farther in depth into the systems of the body than I've ever gone. It was a topic I enjoyed making it easy to learn and pay attention to in class. |

Why Rose-Hulman?
Rose-Hulman offered me the small, family atmosphere I was looking for combined with a top-notch education. Here, I can earn a nationally-recognized engineering degree in four years while also getting the opportunity to do some of things I really enjoyed in high school, like choir and drama club, without having them be a huge time commitment. Rose-Hulman is also close enough to home that I can go home if I'd like to, but it's not too close and I can get the full college experience. Since I come from a very small farm town, Rose-Hulman attracted me with its small size. I didn't want to just be a number in the classroom, and at Rose-Hulman you are much more than that. The professors know your name and are always willing to help in any way they can.

Life at Rose-Hulman:
I love life at Rose-Hulman and it has become my home away from home. Here, we are all studying the same things and taking a lot of the same classes –- making it easier to find study groups and people from your classes if you need help. We are all going through the same thing and have the same work load. Rose-Hulman is tough, but we have an excellent support system to help you make it through. We all have to work hard to succeed, but we also like to have fun. It's not all work with no play. There’s a family atmosphere. You make some lifelong friends. There are things to do on campus that are free, along with the activities Terre Haute has to offer. Indianapolis is close, too, and opens up another option for activities. We work hard to build communities on the floors in the residence halls and floor activities are often planned.

Being a Female Student at Rose-Hulman: |
I don't really mind it because I usually get along with boys better than I do with girls. Boys usually create less drama . . . Rose-Hulman's male-female ratio is around 80:20, which is pretty typical for an engineering school. You also have to keep in mind that the engineering world is dominated by males. You might as well get used to working with mostly males now because that's the way it is in the real world.

Why Engineering? |
I originally wanted to go to medical school. However, I decided that biomedical engineering would allow me to enter the medical field without spending eight years of my life in school before I could start working. Also, engineering offered me a very versatile degree that opens up a lot of different doors once you graduate.

Why Being A Resident Assistant? |
It allows me to give back to the school and community that I love so much. I enjoy getting the chance to help others and impact their lives while trying to make sure they have as great of a time at Rose-Hulman as I do.
Best Aspect About Rose-Hulman? |
The family and community atmosphere is definitely the best aspect. Rose-Hulman is my home away from home and I often find myself referring to it as “home.” Being here has helped me grow as a person and has offered me some lifelong friends. I would not trade the last three years at Rose-Hulman for anything.
