The
Office of Communications and Marketing
advances
Rose-Hulman’s reputation and identity as one of the nation's best
undergraduate engineering, mathematics and science institutions in the country by providing printed
and electronic information to a wide variety of internal and external
audiences. Staff members work with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and
friends as well as business, industry and government officials to develop
story ideas and generate news releases to local, state, and national news
media.
If a reporter contacts a member of the
campus community, we ask that the Office of Communications and
Marketing be notified.
This will enable us to provide assistance to the faculty, staff or student
who would be questioned by the media.
We serve as a media resource ready to
answer questions, identify campus experts, supply information, and identify
story ideas. We assist many types of media including newspapers, specialty
magazines, journals, television, and radio, print and online broadcasts. Rose-Hulman
is featured in
several national, state and local media.
Examples of recent Rose-Hulman coverage:
• U.S. News & World Report in its print and online editions ranked
Rose-Hulman as the nation's No. 1 college or university that offers
a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
• The NFL TV Network broadcast a one-hour show from campus during Colts
summer training camp. The quality of our campus facilities and the college's
U.S. News ranking were mentioned often during the telecast.
• News of the selection of Gerald Jakubowski as the 13th president of
Rose-Hulman was published or broadcast by national media that included The
Arizona Republic, The Indianapolis Star, The Louisville Courier, and several
engineering publications.
