L-3 Aeromet executes the Airborne Sensor (ABS) program for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) from their Tulsa, OK based facility. The ABS program provides optical truth data for all phases of MDA testing (missile/target fly out, intercept engagement, target reentry, etc.). ABS deploys aircraft and teams of qualified operators, engineers, and analysts to remote locations around the world in order to accomplish these tasks. This position will be responsible for the integration of ABS sensors aboard the various airborne platforms. This position will be responsible for understanding and interpreting mission-specific sensor requirements and defining the sensor configuration to meet those requirements. Other duties include sensor build up, sensor calibration, and documentation. These tasks will be performed at home station in a laboratory environment and in deployed settings with the aircraft. Additionally this position will be required to operate the sensors on the aircraft as part of the Mission Operations Crew.

Measuring, examining, one or more characteristics of a product and the comparison of these with specified requirements to determine conformity. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interpret Engineering drawings and specifications to determine if incoming materials are in compliance.  Understanding of mechanical gauging and materials is essential.
  • Select materials for test and inspection using accepted quality level industry standards and GC Quality standards.
  • Record inspection data and maintain files on materials and products inspections such as: first article reports, inspection reports, discrepant material reports and certifications.

Engineering Lab Technician 

Focus on the engineering development and testing of both Vari-lite and Strand lighting fixtures, suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this interesting position based at Genlyte Controls in Dallas TX.  

Daily duties include

       Safety of all activities and testing in progress

The role includes ongoing testing of existing products alongside prototypes of new ideas. Documentation, pictures and reporting and record keeping and being organized is required. In this role, no two days are the same with a varied, continual and interesting workload that the candidate is expected to manage and complete according to current priorities.  

Candidates should have a good understanding of engineering principles, safety when working with electrical equipment and an overall interest in the products.
