Tim
Cindric, a 1990 Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology graduate, has been promoted to the
overall management responsibility for the
various Penske Performance, Inc. entities,
according to an announcement by Roger S. Penske.
Cindric will be headquartered in Mooresville,
N.C., and has responsibility for Penske
Performance operations that include teams
competing in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series,
IndyCar Series and American LeMans Series. It
was recently decided that Penske Performance
would consolidate its racing teams to its
state-of-the-art facility in Mooresville.
Cindric, an Indianapolis native, has been
President of Penske Racing, Inc. since 1999 with
management responsibility of Marlboro Team
Penske, Penske Cars, Ltd., Racing Experience,
Inc., Penske Technology Group, and Penske
Motorsports, Inc. Under his leadership, Marlboro
Team Penske has scored two National
Championships and 25 victories, including three
consecutive Indianapolis 500-mile race wins
(2001-2003).
Cindric received a bachelor of science degree
from Rose-Hulman. In 2001, he was inducted into
the Rose-Hulman Athletic Hall of Fame for his
outstanding contributions as a four-year
letterman on the college's basketball team.
Penske Racing is one of the most successful
teams in the history of professional sports.
Competing in a variety of disciplines, cars
owned and prepared by Penske Racing have 262
major race wins, 295 pole positions and 18
National Championships.
