Yes, bring your car to school - plenty of convenient
parking

Another beauty of going to a smaller school? You can bring a car
even when you're a freshman. In fact, about half of our freshmen do
have cars with them on campus. Just register your car during New
Student Orientation (it's free), and you will be assigned your
parking area. Be sure to park only where specified; student parking
spaces are painted yellow, while faculty-staff spaces are white. Follow the
parking rules in the Student Handbook to avoid a hassle. Also,
be sure your car is properly insured, as suggested by our Business &
Finance Office.
If you aren't planning to bring a car, never fear. You'll be
able to find someone who can give you a ride to the mall, grocery
store, bowling alley, restaurant, movie theater or anywhere else
you need to go. You may also take the city bus to eastside locations like
Walmart, Kroger or Walgreens. If you can't find a ride, ask your
Resident Assistant for assistance (that's why they have "Assistant"
in their name, after all!).
Getting to and from Rose-Hulman
If you live far enough away from Terre Haute that you won't be
driving to campus, here's what you need to know about
transportation. The Indianapolis International Airport is just
under an hour away from campus. There are no connecting flights to
Terre Haute International Airport - Hulman Field, so you will need
to have a ride from the airport to campus. If you find it
impossible to arrange pick-up at Indianapolis, a representative
from Rose-Hulman can pick you up from Indianapolis for your initial
arrival in the fall. After that, it will be your responsibility to
arrange transportation with a friend or limo service.
You may also ride a Greyhound bus to Terre Haute. If you need to be
picked up at the bus station, please contact the Office of Student
Affairs in advance so we may arrange a ride to campus for you.
