Eligibility
To be eligible to become a Rose-Hulman Global Experience Fellow,
a candidate must:
- Be in good standing at Rose-Hulman with a GPA of at least
3.0
- Plan to participate in a study abroad program during the
upcoming fall, spring, or summer academic terms (students studying
abroad in winter term must check with the Office of Global Programs
about eligibility)
- Complete an application including an essay by the specified
deadlines
Selection Criteria
Each fall, winter, spring, and summer term, the Associate
Dean of Global Programs will convene a committee comprised of
comprised of members of faculty and staff who will review all
Global Experience Fellowship applications. The selection committee
will evaluate the applications using the following criteria:
- Passion for international study (as demonstrated by the
scholarship essay)-40 pts
- Academic ability and achievement-30 pts
- Leadership and public service-30 pts
Requirements
Selected student fellows agree to comply with program
requirements and requests for the duration of the fellowship.
Some key requirements are:
- To assist the Office of Global Programs in marketing the
benefits of the global experience (study abroad, overseas
internship and projects) by participating in open houses or similar
activities
- To write an essay upon the completion of the global experience
detailing the benefits of the experience that may be used on the
Rose-Hulman website and in print media
- To cooperate with the Office of Global Programs' reasonable
requests and efforts to publicize the fellowship program
- To use scholarship funds only for expenses related to the
approved global experience
