ROSE-BUD - Activities

Students will learn, team-building skills, time-management techniques, coping strategies, and networking skills. The format will consist of seminars and informal activities throughout the academic year. Based upon participation, students will:
- Be better prepared for their summer research experiences, internships, and post-graduation engineering career
- Develop peer and mentoring networks, and
- Learn strategies to assist with study habits, classroom performance, and time management.

- SPARK DAY - Spring Design Challenge (Sponsored by Halliburton) Saturday, March 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m., SRC
Students will compete in high school and college teams to engage in creative design and team building exercises. There will be a guest speaker and lunch will be served.

The Four Ways Workshop with Kay Coder
Friday, December 14, 1012, 4:20 - 5:10 p.m., HMU PA Room
Students will complete the four ways identity mapping system in order to learn more about their personality as well as their peers. This will help them to work more effectively while also appreciating the diversity of others.

ROSE-BUD ArcelorMittal Internship Fair
Wednesday, September 19, 2012, 6 - 8 pm, Kahn Room
Open to all students, upperclassmen will present posters describing their internship and co-op experiences.

Welcome and Networking Picnic
Friday, September 7, 2012, 6 - 8 pm, Sand Volleyball Courts
Dinner and Networking
Mentors, mentees and faculty will meet informally for a picnic and networking and to welcome the newest ROSE-BUD scholars.
