Get connected with a Rose-Hulman alum in your field

Alum MentorThe Alumni Mentoring Program (AMP), coordinated by the Student Alumni Association and the Career Services Office, provides you with access to alumni currently working in your field of study. These volunteers provide you with advice, guidance and networking opportunities. Ask them about their years at Rose-Hulman and what advice they have for you as far as courses to take, internships to pursue or best ways to study. You'll also be able to learn about possible career interests and other post-undergraduate opportunities such as graduate school.

Remember, AMP is designed to be a networking resource, but it is not intended to land you a job or internship. Be respectful of your mentor's time and do not ask for an internship or job.

How to be paired with a mentor

The Alumni Mentoring Program works primarily through eRecruiting and e-mail. If your mentor lives nearby, perhaps you'll meet in person. Your mentor may also want to speak with you on the phone. Your mentoring relationship will develop once you start the process. Here are the steps to take:

  • Log into your eRecruiting account and look for the Mentor tab.
  • Search for a mentor based on the available criteria.
  • Send a Mentoring Request through the system to the alum that best fits your interests.
  • Once they accept, communicate with them via the eRecruiting Mentor module.

You may have more than one mentor, but keep in mind that mentors have time to connect with only a certain number of students. For that reason, we request you not have more than three mentors at a time. Once you have been paired with a mentor, we suggest you communicate with him or her at least once a month. Note that you may also break your connection with a mentor at any time.
