Sure, your student will need your help during move-in day, but what else do we have in store for parents during orientation? Plenty! You can get your financial aid and insurance questions answered, learn about our active Parents' Association, take campus tours and more.

This schedule is tentative.  Times and locations are subject to change.

Student Financial Aid

Members of the Financial Aid Office staff will be available to answer any questions that you have concerning financial aid.

Staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you have about your invoice and to take payments.

Student Insurance Services

Get your questions answered concerning RHIT student health insurance.

Residence Hall Check-In

Resident students and their parents will check in at the student's assigned residence hall.

Commuter & Transfer Student Check-In

Student Affairs Office, HMU 145, Hulman Union

Commuter & transfer students should check in and get your student ID photo taken.

Parents' Association Information Table

Location: TBD

Stop by the Parents' Association tent to get a snow cone and get information from experienced parents.

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.   Sports and Recreation Center Tours (SRC)

Information Desk, Sports & Recreation Center

Tours of the SRC will be given by staff members. Learn about the facilities, wellness program, intramural program, and sport clubs. A tour will depart from the information desk every fifteen minutes beginning at 2:00 p.m.

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.  

Campus Tours

Location: TBD

Tours of the campus will be given by upperclass students.  Meet near the umbrella tables.  A tour will depart every fifteen minutes beginning at 2:00 p.m.

3:45 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  

General Information for Parents on Rose-Hulman's Women's Greek Life (optional)

Heritage Room, HMU 265, Hulman Union

Representatives from Panhellenic Council, the governing body for women's fraternities, will be on hand to answer your questions about Greek life on our campus and about recruitment.

3:45 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.   General Information for Parents on Rose-Hulman's Men's Greek Life (optional)

Performing Arts Room, HMU 263, Hulman Union

RHIT Greeks will be on hand to describe the system to you and answer any questions that you have.

4:30 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.  

Commuter & Transfer Student Reception and Panel Session

Faculty Dining Room, HMU 208, Hulman Union

Commuter and transfer students, along with their families, will enjoy light refreshments in Faculty Dining Room with with the VP & Dean of Students, Associate VP for Student Affairs, Director of Student Services and Assistant Director of Admissions.  A student panel will also answer your questions and get you connected with your classmates.

4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Your Choice

While your student enjoys his/her first floor dinner with new friends, check out one of the many dining options Terre Haute has to offer. Information on local restaurants can be found in the packet you received at check-in.

Parents' Bingo

Vonderschmitt Dining Room, HMU 216, Hulman Union

This fun event will give parents time to get to know one another and have fun playing bingo for prizes while enjoying light refreshments.

Representatives from Academic Affairs, Institutional Advancement, Student Affairs, Student Financial Services, Learning Center and others will be present to make short presentations to answer any questions you may have. Your student will re-join you after this session at the Arena for the President's Welcoming Address.

Campus Tours

Location: TBD

Tours of the campus will be given by upperclass students.   A tour will depart every fifteen minutes beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Make your reservations to attend this campus-wide picnic. Enjoy food, games, and a photos with your student.
