SimplyWell Upcoming Events

Please note: You must enter your points on SimplyWell's website within 90 days of an event in order to be eligible for the points. You do not have to participate in on-campus activities to earn points. Community events may also count toward wellness events.

Examples of activities that could count as a wellness event:

  • 5k Run/Walk (Sponsored by RHIT or on an individual basis)
  • Athletic Teams (i.e. Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, etc.)
  • Dine-with-a Doc®
  • Family Activities (i.e. hiking, baseball, swimming, etc)
  • Health Fair (Sponsored by RHIT or out in the community)
  • One-day special event (i.e. Zumbathon, Golf Outing, etc.)
  • Online wellness seminars/webinars
  • Massage (on-campus or off-campus)
  • Wellness Seminar/Conference

Community Events

Check out Whip It Up Wednesdays! It is a workshop for families in the community to gain a better understanding of how to handle food and prepare simple, quick, and healthy meals for their families. There is NO cost for the workshops beginning in January but registration IS required. Click here for the flyer and information on registration!

Unless otherwise noted, all sessions require registration. Spouses are welcome to attend any event. All sessions are worth 250 SimplyWell points.

January

Exercise

  • Date: Thursday, January 15
  • Time: 9:55 - 10:45 a.m.
  • Location: Hulman Memorial Union (HMU) - Heritage Room
  • Description: Tracy Arini, RD, CD, CDE, from Union Hospital, will discuss exercise and its role in maintaining your healthy lifestyle. This session is part of the Maintain, Don't Gain Wellness Challenge and is worth 250 SimplyWell Wellness Events points.

February

Stress Management

  • Date: Thursday, February 5
  • Time: 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.
  • Location: Hulman Memorial Union (HMU) - Heritage Room
  • Description: Dr. Michael Latta and the Student Counseling Services Office will present on Stress Management. Tips and suggestions will be offered to help manage stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Elder Care

  • Date: Tuesday, February 17
  • Time: 1:35 - 2:25 p.m.
  • Location: Hulman Memorial Union (HMU) - Kahn Room
  • Description: Neil A. Black from Wilkinson, Goeller, Modesitt, Wilkinson & Drummy, LLP will provide information related to elder care planning. Topics discussed include (but are not limited to): planning issues and costs involved with estate and Medicaid/Medicare).

Calorie-Counting/Label Reading

  • Date: Wednesday, February 25
  • Time: 9:55 - 10:45 a.m.
  • Location: Hulman Memorial Union (HMU) - Heritage Room

Annual Benefits/Wellness Fair

  • Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Location: Sports and Recreation Complex (SRC)
  • Description: The RHIT Wellness Committee invites you to our annual benefits/wellness fair.
