Lisa Norton has been appointed dean of admissions at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She supervises a staff of professionals that process more than 5,000 applications for each freshman class; coordinate hundreds of college fairs, high school, and campus visits; and contact prospective students through publications, calls, e-mails, and social media.
Norton has been a member of Rose-Hulman’s Office of Admissions for 15 years, serving as director of admissions since 2007, and earned the President’s Outstanding Service Award earlier this year.
Professionally, Norton recently completed a four-year term as an officer of the Indiana Association of College Admissions Counseling (IACAC), serving a year as president, past-president, president-elect, and secretary. As past-president, she was the chief delegate for the national association’s convention. She has also chaired the IACAC’s educational calendar committee for five years, coordinating the statewide college fairs.
Norton has also assisted with the Independent Colleges of Indiana’s high school counselor breakfast, summer college campus tours, and admissions directors’ professional development roundtables.
In Vigo County, Norton has helped organize the Wabash Valley College Fair and the Vigo County College Coalition.
