Creative Communicator Michael Davids Named Director of Marketing

Experienced communications professional Michael Davids has been
named Director of Marketing at Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology.

Davids has more than 25 years of experience in communications,
public relations, publishing management, educational research and
higher education brand building. He has proven successes in
strategic planning and utilizing the latest communication methods
to meet marketing, enrollment and fund-raising initiatives.
At Rose-Hulman, Davids will implement marketing strategies to
help increase the institute's brand identity and meet short- and
long-term communications goals, according to Mary G. Barr, Vice
President for Communications and Marketing.
Davids has most recently served as Chief of Staff for the
President's Office at Rose-Hulman during the past year. His higher
education experience also includes serving four years as Director
of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations at Holy Cross
College in Notre Dame, Ind., and working at the University of
Chicago's Center for Medical Education Research. At Holy Cross, he
helped pioneer Web site, mobile device and social media strategies
that increased interest in the college and name recognition within
the Midwest. He also developed fundraising strategies and published
an alumni magazine.
A former creative director for two marketing agencies, Davids
has won regional and international communications awards, and has
helped businesses reorganize their communications strategies.
Former clients of Davids have included the Field Museum of Chicago,
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago and National Dairy Council.
Davids earned his bachelor's degree in English from the
University of Iowa, a master's degree in literature and the arts
from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) and graduate certificate
in direct marketing from DePaul University.
