Bernadette G. Ewen Named Director of Logan Library

Experienced information management professional Bernadette G.
Ewen has been named the Director of the John A. Logan Library at
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She will oversee the
institute's library services.
Ewen has worked with university students, scientists, executives
and external publishers of scientific and technical information
through positions with industry and educational institutions. She
spent more than 13 years with Sanofi Pasteur as Director of Library
and Information Access (2003-2012), Manager for Library Services
(2001-2002) and Senior Information Scientist (1998-2001).
Career highlights have also had Ewen working as Assistant Senior
Information Scientist for Eli Lilly and Company (1991-1998),
Adjunct Professor of Library and Information Science at Indiana
University (1995), Technical Information Scientist for Dow Chemical
U.S.A. (1991) and Branch Coordinator for the Indiana University
Medical Sciences Library (1989-91).
Ewen earned a master's degree in library science from Indiana
University and a bachelor's degree in life sciences from Indiana
State University. She also has received certification in copyright
management from the Special Libraries Association and took courses
in French, German and English at Switzerland's University of
Fribourg.
The Logan Library has served the campus since 1974. The
building, located in the center of campus, was remodeled in 2010
and now features an extensive collection of scientific research
materials, updated periodicals, meeting rooms and a digital
resource center. More than 140,000 people visited the library this
academic year, with staff members filling over 2,400 document
requests.
