athletic
mascot
“Rosie”
will
be
featured
in a
segment
on
the
television
program
“NCAA
On
Campus”
to
be
aired
on
Friday
June
27
at 11 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. EDT on ESPNU.

An additional
airing
of
the
“NCAA
On
Campus”
program
took
place
on
ESPN Classic
on
June 18.
The
show
will
also
be
streamed
online
at a
later
date
at
ncaa.org.
The
two-minute
feature
is
part
of a
30-minute
monthly
program
produced
by
the
NCAA
for
televised
and
Internet
distribution.
The
feature
was
a
collaborative
effort
between
Indianapolis
based
production
company
DL
Images
and
the
Rose-Hulman
Institutional
Advancement
Office.
The
feature
discusses
the
history
of
Rosie,
from
its
founding
in
the
early
1900s
through
today’s
use
of
the
mascot
at
Rose-Hulman
athletic
events.
The
mascot
was
formerly
a
tradition
that
consisted
of
the
freshman
class
creating
a
wooden
Rosie
for
Homecoming.
Throughout
its
history,
the
Rosie
mascot
suit
has
been
filled
by a
Fightin’
Engineer
student. |
