New Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee John Madden visited the Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology campus Friday (Aug. 18) to attend the Indianapolis
Colts training camp, and had the opportunity to meet with Rose-Hulman
President Gerald Jakubowski.

Madden was at the Colts' morning practice to prepare for the NBC-TV
national telecast Sunday (Aug. 20) of the Colts preseason game against the
Seattle Seahawks at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
President Jakubowski presented Madden with several Rose-Hulman gifts
including a small, glass elephant symbolizing the Engineers' athletic
mascot.
The Colts preseason game is the third that Madden and Al Michaels will
broadcast on the NBC Network after many years on ABC's Monday Night
Football. Madden has won 14 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Sports
Analyst/Personality.
Madden, who led the Oakland Raiders to Super Bowl XI, was inducted into
the Hall of Fame on Aug. 6. His regular season winning percentage (759)
ranks as the highest ever among coaches with 100 career victories. Oakland
never had a losing season under his leadership.
Madden's visit culminated the largest number of national media to visit
training camp since Rose-Hulman began hosting the Colts eight years ago.
