Two honors students who graduated in May from Lawrence
North and Arsenal Technical high schools in Marion County are the
recipients of the 2006 Indianapolis Colts Minority Science and
Engineering Scholarship to attend Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
this fall.

The scholarship winners are Lawrence North High School
graduate Sabre Evans and Vinh Dao, who graduated recently from Arsenal
Technical High School.
Each scholarship covers full-tuition for four years at
the private engineering, mathematics and science college.
Evans graduated in the top 20 percent of her high school
graduating class. She was a leader in the Lawrence North Peers Educating
Peers program and was a member of the school choir. Evans will major in
mechanical engineering at Rose-Hulman.
Dao was a member of the National Honor Society, an
officer in the school's Junior ROTC program, and a member of the soccer
team. Dao will pursue a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Rose-Hulman is currently hosting the Colts summer
training camp for the eighth consecutive year. The camp ends on Aug. 19.

Evans and Dao were honored Aug. 2 during the annual
Colts Training Camp dinner sponsored by Rose-Hulman. Nearly 600
Rose-Hulman employees, alumni and Terre Haute community leaders attended
the dinner at which Colts President Bill Polian was the featured
speaker.
This is the second consecutive year the full-tuition
scholarships for two freshmen have been awarded. |
