Design Projects Needed for Civil Engineering Students
January 8, 2014
Civic Engineers: Civil engineering student teams have completed several projects for local community groups, including floor plans for playgrounds, athletic fields, and park projects.
Freshman civil engineering students are already gearing up to work on design projects this spring. Traditionally, these projects are sponsored by local citizens and community groups.
Typical projects include parking lot layouts, solutions for drainage and traffic problems, simple waste treatment problems, floor plans for small buildings, and designs for athletic fields, playgrounds and park projects.
Each project is completed by student teams in nine weeks. The spring quarter begins on March 10.
As freshmen, the students have limited engineering skills, but they always show a lot of enthusiasm and creativity, and provide a genuine service to the community. Civil Engineering Professors John Aidoo, PhD, and Jenny Mueller Price, PhD, are expecting to have 12 projects this spring.
If you are interested in the freshman civil engineering design program, please contact Professor Aidoo at 812-877-8594 describing your project by February 21.
