This paper in enumerative combinatorics (which proves a result in recurrence relations) is based on work completed in the summer of 2003 when I was a rising senior at Brandeis University, MA. My advisor Prof. Gessel was instrumental in introducing me to the problem and facilitating the work to completion. My other research interest in mathematics is in fluid mechanics. I have a parallel career in business consulting, and have worked in Karachi (Pakistan), London and the Greater Boston area in the fields of marketing/PR, finance, database design and website strategy. My aim is to complete a Masters/PhD in applied mathematics (in fluid mechanics), and then work in business strategy consulting. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing (on cross-cultural issues) and traveling.
