Melissa DeLeon is a senior Mathematics/Secondary Education major at Seton Hall University who will be graduating in May 2000 with highest honors. This paper is the culmination of a senior independent project completed under the guidance of Dr. John T. Saccoman. It was presented at the Second Annual Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln. Melissa has also been nominated for the Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award, a prestigious award from the New Jersey Department of Education. She plans to teach mathematics at the high school level in Northern New Jersey where she resides with her husband, Shane. When not thinking mathematics or teaching, Melissa can be found in the theatre, where she has performed in and/or directed many shows including: A Christmas Carol, A Few Good Men, Oliver!, Dead Men Don't Need Dress Rehearsals, Guys and Dolls, Damn Yankees, and Alice in Wonderland.
