What is IR
Institutional Research (IR) is a function, typically at colleges and universities, that supports institutional management, operations, planning, policy-formation and decision-making through various tasks and research activities. Typical IR tasks and activities may include data gathering and survey research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, internal and external reporting, enrollment management, information management, assessment and evaluation, accreditation support, and benchmarking.
