Volleyball team sets single-season record


The volleyball team won a school-record 16 matches and compiled an 8-10 record in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contests to enjoy the best season in school history this fall.

Senior Jenny McGuire capped her career with seven school records and the top-10 single-game assists performances in school history. Junior Jennifer Krause became the first player at Rose-Hulman to smash 1,000 kills in a career, while junior Tara Strahle led the team in service aces and finished second on the squad in digs.

Freshmen Sara Christenson and Amanda Salinas highlighted the contributions from a talented incoming class. Christenson was named the team’s Most Improved Player after smashing 131 kills, while Salinas tallied 201 kills and 68 blocks for the Engineers.
