Melinda Middleton brings wealth of experience to financial aid office

Melinda Middleton may be new to Rose-Hulman and its financial aid office, but helping high school students and their parents afford to attend college is nothing new for the veteran administrator.

And, she’s ready to meet the challenge.

At Ivy Tech State College in Terre Haute, Middleton served as dean of students for the past two years after being director of financial aid for seven years. She became Rose-Hulman’s financial aid director at the start of the school year, replacing Darin Greggs, who returned to the business office as controller.

At Rose-Hulman, Middleton will award scholarship, need and non-need based financial aid, and work-study resources in hopes of helping families afford Rose-Hulman’s $33,300 total cost for 2001-2002 freshmen.

Eighty-five percent of Rose-Hulman students receive some sort of financial aid. The average student financial aid package was $17,153 for the 2000-2001 school year.

Middleton earned a master’s degree in human resources from Indiana State University after receiving a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Southern Indiana.
