Echoes changing to a magazine format beginning next year
Look for a change in your Echoes. This publication will be switching from a tabloid to
a magazine next year.
The content will be similar, but how it is presented will be upgraded through enhanced
graphics and photography.
Our readership surveys show that our readers like our content, said Editor
Bryan Taylor. They are pleased with the writing style and the mix of articles, both
features and news. The magazine will allow us to enhance that editorial focus.
We also will enhance our image as a college, Taylor said. We want a
publication befitting of our growing reputation as a leader in engineering, science and
mathematics education. We want our readers to pass Echoes on to others.
The magazines mission statement reads as follows: The mission of Rose-Hulman
Echoes is to maintain and increase the communication between the Institute and its various
constituencies. Echoes does this by informing alumni, parents, business leaders,
engineering educators and friends about happenings in the life of the Rose-Hulman
community. This includes campus developments, educational trends, alumni events, and news
and features about alumni, faculty and student achievement, personally and professionally.
Thereby, the magazine strengthens a mutually beneficial relationship between the college
and its constituents.
