Alumni directory going online
The Rose-Hulman alumni directory is going on-line.
Work began last fall to put the Rose-Hulman alumni directory on-line. Plans call for the
directory to be up and running on the Rose-Hulman web site by mid-spring. It will be a
free service for alumni.
The e-version of the directory will include the same features the annual printed directory
has offered. It will include listings by: class, alphabet, geography and employer. Alumni
will be able to search for the classmates postal addresses, jobs and e-mail
addresses.
Alumni Director Brian Dyer noted the directory will be run on a secure server, and it will
be available only to alumni. A password protection system will enhance the security of the
site.
Alumni will receive information about how to gain access to the directory soon. They also
will be given the opportunity to keep their information from being posted via the
electronic format.
One of the benefits of the electronic directory is the ability to update it on a regular
basis, probably monthly. Printed directories only allowed an update once a year.
For more than two decades, Rose-Hulman has been one of the few colleges in the country
that has offered its alumni an annual directory free of charge. A limited press run of
printed directories will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the
spring.
We are pleased to be able to continue and enhance the directory tradition,
Dyer said. The ability to update it more than once a year guarantees our alumni will
have the most up-to-date information at their fingertips.
Working with the alumni office on the project are the publications office and the services
and research division of the development office.
