Bruce Cahill elected
to Board of Trustees

Bruce Cahill, a 1970 electrical engineering alumnus
and president of Centaur Corp. in Irvine, Calif., has been elected as the newest member of
the Rose-Hulman Board of Trustees. He attended his first board meeting Oct. 1.
Cahill founded Centaur, a semiconductor-based manufacturers
representative. Company sales currently exceed $700 million. The company has offices in
California and other western states.
In 1996, Cahill created 1451 International, Ltd., which holds various
exclusive worldwide licenses with the Vatican for the manufacturing and distribution of
art, bronzes, publishing, school and baptismal clothing, and greeting cards. The company
also has licenses and business agreements with the British Museum, Victor and Albert, the
Uffisi, and the Museum of Venice.
Three years ago, he also founded Intensity Athletics, which
manufactures sportswear sold through national sports, department stores and college
stores. The company was sold earlier this year.
Prior to founding Centaur, Cahill held a variety of sales management
positions with Fairchild Semiconductor.
Cahill received the Rose-Hulman Distinguished Young Alumnus Award in
1985. He also served as a member of the Rose-Hulman Commission on the Future strategic
planning group.
Cahill has been active in fund raising for Childrens Hospital of
Orange County, the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, and Saint Margarets School. |
Rob Coons selected as new vice
president for
business, finance

Robert Coons has been promoted to vice president of
business and finance at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, according to Rose-Hulman
President Samuel Hulbert.
Coons has served as assistant vice president and controller at
Rose-Hulman since 1995. He joined the Rose-Hulman business affairs staff in 1989 as
controller after serving for four years as controller at St. Andrews Presbyterian College
in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
He is currently president of the Indiana Association of College and
University Business Officers. Coons is a member of the Central Association of College and
University Business Officers and serves on the organizations audit committee. He is
active in the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
Coons received a bachelors degree in business from Indiana University. He is also a
certified public accountant. |
