History book details past 25 years



   A special part of the 125th celebration was the unveiling of a book outlining the history of Rose-Hulman’s past 25 years.
Titled “To be the Best, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 1974-99”, the 180-page book looked at major happenings and themes of the past 25 years. It contains almost 200 photographs
    The book was written by William B. Pickett, professor of history. His work was based on countless interviews and document research that took place during a two-and-a-half-year period
    Assisting Pickett with the project was the Rose-Hulman History Team. Members included Barbara Mullen,project coordinator and editorial assistant; Peter Parshall, professor of comparative literature; John Robson, librarian and archivist; Bryan Taylor, director of publications; and Carol Loyless, project coordinator at the book’s inception.
    Chapter titles are: The Transformation; The Students; The Final Logan Years; The Hulbert Years; The Olin Gift; Curricular Reform in the Information Age; Coeducation; Vision to be the Best; Professors and Programs; The Learning Community; and What the Future Holds.
