The Alumni
Class Scholarship Program
was initiated as a
way for classmates to work
together to create an
endowed scholarship fund.
Each fund is named for the
class year (e.g. Class of
1940 Scholarship) as a
legacy of the class and as a
gift to current and future
students of Rose.
Gifts of any size can be
made to establish or add to
a fund and gifts of all
types are possible. Gifts
of cash, stock, fund
rollovers, in-kind and real
property, and planned gifts
can be made. After a fund
is created with the first
gift, the fund will grow as
additional gifts are
received, but no scholarship
awards are made until 12
months after it reaches a
market value of $50,000, the
floor Rose-Hulman has
established for endowed
funds. This process
maintains funds at a level
where they can provide
significant gifts and
continue to grow so awards
remain significant in
adjusted dollars.
All classes will have had
the opportunity to create a
fund. To date, classes
have created funds and eight
funds have reached the fully
endowed level and are
awarding scholarships.
Click
here to see class year
info and the values of the
funds.
To keep you informed of
the progress of your fund,
each class agent and any
donors of over $5,000 to any
fund will annually receive a
letter that includes the
market value of the fund and
the names and brief info
about the students who have
received awards.
Please add your class
year to the list or increase
the size of your class year
fund as you can. Your
generosity adds to the
scholarship funds available
to the students of
Rose-Hulman who are
following in the tradition
you helped to create and
continue through the years.
