CSEE Background
The Center for Structural Engineering Education was developed by Dr. James Hanson in 2005 as part of an NSF project to teach undergraduate students how practicing engineers evaluate their analysis and design results. The Center has grown to encompass a variety of pedagogical research projects on how to improve Structural Engineering Education.
This website was created to be a repository of tools and information. It exists to share resources for Structural Engineering Education free of charge. Content includes photos, slide shows, case studies, example problems, teaching aids, and other teaching resources. Much of the content has been developed by faculty in the Department of Civil Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. However, we welcome submissions from anyone.
The site does require login. This allows us to track usage statistics (e.g., what content is most popular, how many practitioners/faculty/students are using the site), and it allows us to follow-up with questions on how to make the site more useful. All of the information supplied for registration remains confidential for use only by the faculty in Civil Engineering at Rose-Hulman.
Please note that the copyright for material from this site remains with the developer of the material. However, all copyright holders have agreed to allow not-for-profit usage of the content. Therefore, you are permitted to use this content in presentations, papers, free seminars, and the classroom. However, you must contact us to request permission to use anything from this site in a book or seminar for which there is a fee.
