LeftLibGo's Next-Generation Travel System (NGTS) architecture, from http://webservices.sys-con.com/read/136219.htm.   This self-described “sophisticated booking system” is a large-scale composite application which is able to deliver more than a million transactions per day. Their site says that, “in the process [of creating this design] we mastered performance, transactional semantics, and the security challenges that are unique to an SOA [Service-oriented architecture] environment.”
