I think of myself as a Chief (a leader). 3 2 2 8-12 5 I don't like to be micromanaged, but I like the team leader to be involved in or at least know what's going on in each area of the project. Java - I'm pretty good with java, although it's been quite awhile since I've done any UI in it. C# - I've been involved with projects at Ventures using C#, though most of the work was on UI stuff. C/C++ - This past summer I worked on a project using mostly C, but a little C++ as well. I'll still sometimes forget to free variables and make other memory errors, but I can handle it. Scheme- I took PLC last spring, so I'm still pretty good with scheme. However, I really doubt any of the projects will be written in it. J Creator- I used this Freshman year and can probably still figure everything out in it. Eclipse- I used this last year for 230 and prefer it over J Creator. I haven't used the plug-ins for visual editing, as most of the stuff in 230 was command line. Visual Studio- This is what I've been using most recently, and I'm pretty decent with it. 4 3 3 3 3 3 4 4 Last summer I was on a project at Ventures that was basically the early development stages of the redesign of a client's product. We had to learn all about their current product, personally interacting with them on a weekly basis. After figuring out the desired functionality we spent time writing Use Case documents and a program architecture document. We then spent the rest of the summer designing a large scale database for the system. Many times the collaborations with the client involved negotiation of product requirements, as they didn't really have a clue about software. Many of the things they wanted to do would have taken a year or two in themselves to develop in addition to the actual core product. Talking with a client, Documenting code, Designing graphical user interfaces, Implementing graphical user interfaces, Writing AIs for games, Coding Right now I don't think I have a strong preference. I think the cleanest and easiest to use is probably Eclipse, so I guess I'll go with that and java. I like working with clients, designing the system architecture, and coding. This included developing specifications, designing the software, implementing the code, testing, and delivery.
