Introduction
This course is designed to give the participants
a working knowledge of the principles associated
with testing and controlling hot mix asphalt. It
also includes evaluation of asphalt mixtures, aggregate
properties, and the test
methods for each. Those
who complete this course
should have the "know-how"
to meet all specification requirements for testing
and controlling hot asphalt
mixture for Quality
Assurance Specifications.
Who
Should Attend
Although the course will have wide application because
of the subject matter, it is designed for personnel
who
must be certified for Quality Assurance Specification
projects. Accordingly the participants will be drawn
from
hot mix
asphalt firms, aggregate firms, testing
laboratories,
consulting firms, state and local
agencies.
Program
Content
The program content is designed to provide personnel
with technical as well as practical knowledge through
classroom sessions and "hands-on" laboratory experience,
which will be necessary to meet the requirement
of the Quality Assurance Program. The five day program
will be divided into classroom sessions, laboratory
sessions and testing.

Fees
The registration fee is payable in advance and includes
the course, all course materials, four lunches,
and four dinners.
Course
& Exam: TBA
Registration is limited to 24 individuals due to
laboratory
space limitations. If demand for registration
is high
enough, a second session may be offered.
There is no cancellation fee up to 15 days prior
to the first day of the course. After that a $100
cancellation fee may be held.
