Civil Engineering Professor and Department Head Robert    Houghtalen is one of only 70 people to be named as a water resources engineer diplomate by the American Academy of Water Resource Engineers.  The honor is only presented to engineers who have advanced expertise in water resources engineering, extensive experience, and commitment to lifelong learning.  His areas of specialization include hydrology, environmental engineering, hydraulics, nonpoint source pollution/treatment, and groundwater and surface water modeling.
