Co-op & Internship Programs

Rose-Hulman is committed to providing excellent experiential learning opportunities to our students whenever possible. We do this through partnerships with companies and organizations that have co-op and internship programs. All students are eligible to go on a summer internship after their freshman year, and interested students can go on a co-op tour after the winter quarter of their sophomore year.

If you want to talk more about your internship program and how we can help you find talent, please contact us. To learn more about specific internships we have for Indiana companies, see the links below.

To participate in our co-op program, please see the information below.

If you have other internship and co-op questions, try visiting our FAQ page!

Internship Programs

Entrepreneurial Internship Program (EIP) - the EIP program works to place a variety of students from Rose-Hulman with small to medium sized entrepreneurial companies in Indiana for summer internships.

Biomedical Engineering Internship Program - this program focuses on partnerships between Indiana medical communities and Rose-Hulman students in Biomedical Engineering.

Co-op Program

The major thrust of the Rose-Hulman co-op program is educational. The goal is to provide the student with an opportunity to gain hands-on, discipline-specific experience to complement and supplement classroom theoretical instruction. Students do not receive academic credit for our co-op program, and are prepared to engage in stimulating full-time work. Upon completing their work tours, it is conceivable that a student could have up to eighteen months of on-the-job experience.

By its very nature, cooperative education is the cooperation between a school, a company and the student to insure that the student will gain an opportunity to actually put into practice what they have learned in a classroom setting, and simultaneously make a contribution to the company where employed. The company gains the opportunity to train an employee in the way it wants the job done as well as assist in the preparation of tomorrow's engineers. The school insures that its students are receiving the theoretical and practical education that will render the quality of graduates for which schools strive.
