City: an Open Challenge
to U.S. University Students
Schneider Electric is sponsoring a program that might be of interest! Don’t
let the near deadline bum you out…get started and see if you have the answer
to global energy concerns!
Go Green in the City is an international case challenge for university
business and engineering students around the world to find clever solutions
to energy management. Teams must consist of two university engineering
or business students (at least one team-member must be a woman) who are in
their 2nd to final year of a university-level degree program in Brazil,
China, Germany, France, India, Russia, Turkey or the USA.
The 100 best teams are guaranteed an interview for internships and exposure
to job opportunities. Schneider Electric will fly the 25 best teams to
the city of light, Paris, in June 2011 to make their final presentations in
front of a VIP panel of judges. Please access the website via the link below

Program
A summer internship in Indiana could be just a few clicks away, if you chose
to participate in the Entrepreneurial Internship Program. Nine Indiana
companies have been selected to hire Rose-Hulman students to work for them
this summer, and all of these positions will be posted through eRecruiting.
The goal is to connect Rose-Hulman students with Indiana companies that will
not only offer engineering experience, but also exposure to the trials and
tribulations of starting and running your own business. If you are
hired through this program, you will be required to do an end-of-summer
presentation, describing the work you accomplished during your internship.
Not all companies have posted positions yet, but some have already begun the
interview process, and additional companies will be coming to our April 13th
spring fair.
The companies to watch for are:
Acell
Delivra
Peyton Technical Services
Focus Surgery
IMPACT Industrial
Medivative Technologies
Slingshot SEO
Nidec Motor Corporation
Analytical Engineering
Those companies represent the following majors: BE, ME, EE, CS/SE, CPE
and CHE. If you would like to make contact with any of these companies
or learn more about the program, please contact Kathy Kassissieh, Assistant
Director of Career Services, kassissi@rose-hulman.edu.
