Thank you for your interest in joining the 2009-2010 Career Fair team! As a team member, you will be assigned to a committee to work on to produce the three career fairs in the 2009-2010 school year: October 7th, January 27th and April 21st.

If you have additional questions, please contact one of the 2009-2010 Career Fair Co-Chairs: Erinn Sheridan or Kreigh Williams.

In addition to assisting on the day of each career fair, you will be on a committee whose responsibilities are described below:

Recruitment Committee

Company Contact: Cold call companies that have attended the (fall, winter, spring) career fairs in years past but failed to sign up yet. These calls should be made by team members in the Career Services Office and should be signed off by members at the time of calling. Team members should be comfortable cold calling even though scripts and resources will be available.

Tech Committee

Booth Layout: Managing the layout so that all the companies have adequate space, and electricity if needed. It is also necessary to attend to any special requests made by companies. The night prior to the Fall Career Fair, the Tech committee will be responsible for supervising booth setup.

Parking: Work with the Office of Public Safety to ensure that parking is well organized and posted.

Drop Off: Organize drop off of packages on the morning of fairs to ensure order and consistency.

Signs: The tech committee will be charged with posting the outdoor career fair signs around campus.

Tables: For Winter and Spring Career Fairs, where a boothing company is not used, tech committee will be responsible for finishing table setup on the morning of the fair. This involves spreading table cloths and re-spacing tables as necessary.

Publicity Committee

Shirts: Redesign logo for shirts (or use the same from previous year), pick a shirt color, gather sizes for student workers and for company representatives, pick a shirt style, order extra of all sizes for last minute changes, pick up shirts in Career Services office for handout at set up the night before Fall fair, print off a list of the sizes and bring it with you to the SRC, contact Rick Bagnoche for shirts.
Keep shirts ~ $20 or less

Publicity: Publicity for the event through emails, CM boxes, posters/signs in the Commons and in the Union, flyers in residence halls and academic buildings, or other new ideas for publications, do publishing 1 AND 2 weeks before the Career Fair.

Documentation Committee

Company Booklet: Proof read website information. Create booklets from website, fixing any formatting errors. Send a copy to Co-Chairs when completed. Co-Chairs forward a copy to the print shop and to Charity Mouck. Pick up the booklets on the mornings of the career fairs and take them to the fair.

Nametags: Put together company and career fair team nametags. Attend folder stuffing and nametag parties.
