746-seniorsTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology swept IU-Kokomo and Aurora in a memorable volleyball senior day at Hulbert Arena.

The Fightin' Engineers improved to 20-8 on the season with two wins on Saturday.  Rose-Hulman defeated IU-Kokomo 25-22, 25-12, 21-25, 25-12 and topped Aurora 25-13, 25-10, 31-29 to secure the second 20-win season in program history.

Rose-Hulman also celebrated senior day for team members Anna Lewer (Indianapolis/Lutheran) and Erika McGuire (Indianapolis/Warren Central).  McGuire was presented with the NCAA Division III Sportsmanship Award from the NCAA National Office prior to the match, and Lewer was presented with a volleyball signifying her status as the first player in school history with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

Against IU-Kokomo, Lewer led the Engineer offense with 15 kills and 24 digs.  Junior Casey Levitt (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) added 11 kills, with freshman Sarah Jensen (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest) contributing 10 kills.

Jensen had a team-high 27 assists, with junior Kira Boswell (Ames, Iowa) adding 21 assists.  Levitt contributed 17 digs to the effort.

The blocking performance also played a role in the match one victory.  Freshman Claire Raycraft (Decatur, Ill./St. Teresa) had six block assists, with Levitt and junior Catherine Fiutem (Harrison, Ohio/Oldenburg Academy) adding five each.  Lewer had one solo block and three assists.

Against Aurora, Lewer smashed 15 kills and Levitt contributed 14 for the Fightin' Engineer offense.  Jensen recorded 25 assists, while Boswell added 12.

Lewer led the way with four service aces, and Dangel joined Levitt with a match-high 11 digs.  Fiutem paced the blocking effort with one solo block and five assists.

Rose-Hulman stands 20-8 on the season and hosts Bluffton University in round one of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday at 7:30.
