FRANKLIN, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology improved to 5-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference volleyball play with a four-set win over Franklin
College on Friday night.
Franklin captured the first set 25-19, before Rose-Hulman swept the final three sets 25-19, 25-14, 25-23.
Freshman Sarah Jensen (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest) led the offense with 21 kills. Senior Anna Lewer (Indianapolis/Lutheran) pitched in with 12 kills.
Junior Kira Boswell (Ames, Iowa) (pictured) led the squad with 26 assists. Senior Erika McGuire (Indianapolis/Warren Central) had four service aces, with Boswell contributing three.
Junior Kate Dangel (Upper Arlington, Ohio) recorded a team-high 22 digs. Junior Casey Levitt (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) had 14 digs, and Jensen tallied 13.
Rose-Hulman improved to 16-7 overall and 5-1 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Bluffton on Oct. 20.
