TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opened Homecoming festivities with a 25-8, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Franklin College on Friday night at the Sports and Recreation Center.

The Engineers were led by senior Karah Hickman (Hobart, Ind.) with ten kills and four blocks, including three solo.  Senior Morgan Williams (Fenton, Mich./Powers Catholic) added eight kills with 4 total blocks. 

Senior Leah Pelzel (Loveland, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team with 18 assists with Sophomore Kira Boswell (Ames, Iowa) chipping in with 12.  Pelzel also picked up 10 digs.

Sophomore Catherine Pfaadt (Louisville, Ky./Eastern) led the Rose-Hulman defense with 11 digs.   

Rose-Hulman improved to 11-4 on the season, while Franklin dropped to 4-12.  The Fightin' Engineers also gained a share of first place in the conference with a 1-0 HCAC record.

 Rose-Hulman returns to action at Anderson University on Tuesday night.
