TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Engineer Track & Field Invitational will feature one of the top races in the nation this weekend with strong competition in the women's mile.
Nationally ranked Emily Frith of NCAA Division II Bellarmine will join nationally ranked Division III runners Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery of Rose-Hulman and Lucy Cheadle of Washington University in a group that looks to break the vaunted five-minute barrier in the mile.
Frith has been seeded with a 4:59.00 time, Montgomery has a season-best mark of 5:05.80, and Cheadle has been seeded with a 5:08.00 time. The race marks three of the nation's best runners in the event.
The mile run is scheduled for approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday. Field events begin at 12:30, with the first running event at 1:45. Admission to the Rose-Hulman Engineer Track & Field Invitational is free.
