TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology men's track and field team stands No. 13 nationally
and No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region in this week's NCAA
Division III Track and Field Team Dual Meet Rankings, in the weekly
poll released today.
The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association Dual Meet Rankings list Rose-Hulman
13th overall with 160.48 points.
Wabash College stands No. 2 nationally as the only
team above Rose-Hulman in the Great Lakes Region.
The USTFCCA uses a criteria that evaluates the top two
performances in each event that is conducted at the NCAA Division
III Track and Field Indoor National Championships and assigns
a numerical value based upon the quality of the mark to determine
the dual meet rankings.
Rose-Hulman has recorded nine marks that rank in the
national top 30 this season, including six for the men's
squad. Five-time All-American Sutton Coleman
(Lebanon, Va.) ranks No. 3 nationally in the
110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.49 seconds and stands
No. 8 in the 400-meter dash (48.44). He
also has the 22nd fastest mark in the 200-meter dash
Other top 50 marks for the men include the 4-x-400 meter
relay team of freshman Blake Schulthies (Dubois/Northeast
Dubois), junior Tyler Hannan (Winchester,
Ky./George Rogers Clark), junior Travis Stallings
(Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) and Coleman at No. 13 in a
time of 3:17.58.
Junior Collin Crowson (Dublin,
Ohio/Jerome) has the 14th ranked pole vault effort
with a leap of 15' 7", and senior Micah Aldrich
(Indianapolis/Warren Central) stands No. 27 in the
Sophomore three-time national champion Liz Evans
(Bicknell/North Knox) also ranks No. 2 nationally this
season with a high jump leap of 5' 7" and is 12th in the long jump
(18' 6 1/2") to pace the women's effort. Junior
Creasy Clauser (Crawfordsville/Southmont) rounds
out the top 30 marks with a 400-meter dash time of 58.54
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Indiana Division III
Championship Meet at Franklin College on Saturday.
