SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 2013 graduate Liz Evans (Bicknell/North Knox) will compete at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships at Hornet Stadium on the Sacramento State University campus at 12:05 p.m. Pacific Time on June 29.
Evans finished seventh in the 2013 USTAF Outdoor Championships and snapped the NCAA Division III all-time record in the women's high jump with a mark of 6' 0 1/2" at Drake University. She later added a sixth-place finish in the 2014 USTAF Indoor National Championships.
Evans earned qualification to the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships due to her performance at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on April 18. She cleared a mark of 5' 11 1/2" to earn her spot at this year's national championship meet.
Evans completed the most decorated career in Rose-Hulman history with five NCAA Division III national championships, eight All-American awards, six Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Year honors, and five USTFCCCA Regional Field Athlete of the Year accolades.
In the classroom, the three-time Capital One Academic All-American award winner graduated with bachelor's degrees in both mathematics and electrical engineering. Her eight All-American awards included five first-place efforts (2013 Outdoors; 2012 Indoors and Outdoors; 2011 Indoors and Outdoors), two national runner-up performances (2010 Indoors and Outdoors) and one third-place effort (2013 Indoors).
