COMPLETE RESULTS
ADA, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recorded seven event victories and 17 top-three performances at the Ohio Northern University Joe Banks Track & Field Invitational on Saturday.
The effort helped the Rose-Hulman men place third in the nine-team meet, with the women coming home fourth against regionally ranked competition.
Senior Creasy Clauser (Crawfordsville/Southmont) and senior Liz Evans (Bicknell/North Knox) led the individual performances with two first-place efforts and one third-place finish each. Clauser won the 200-meters (27.16) and 400-meters (1:00.05), while Evans set a meet record in the high jump (5' 8 3/4") and also won the long jump (16' 10 3/4").
Senior Tyler Hannan (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark) added a fifth individual win in the 400-meter dash in a time of 50.73 seconds.
Rose-Hulman also swept top honors in the men's and women's 4-x-200 meter relay events. The women's squad featured Clauser, junior Erin Cox (West Harrison/Franklin County), freshman Nicole Bueltel (Huntingburg/Southridge) and senior Gloria Boxell (Zionsville/Covenant Christian) in a time of 1:50.62.
The men's squad included Hannan, senior Travis Stallings (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain), junior Clay Becker (O'Fallon, Ill.) and junior Philip Koranteng (Sterling, Va./Dominion) in a time of 1:32.75.
Rose-Hulman combined for four runner-up finishes on the day. Senior Tanya Colonna (Brecksville, Ohio) cleared 10' 6" in the pole vault and junior Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery (Lafayette, La./Episcopal School of Acadia) added a second-place in the mile (5:17.55) with the second-fastest time in school history.
On the men's side, senior Greg Larmore (Deerfield, Ill.) recorded a weight throw toss of 52' 9 1/4", and Stallings was runner-up in the 200-meter dash in 23.10 seconds.
Third-place honorees included Clauser in the high jump (5' 0 1/4"), Cox in the 200-meter dash (27.77 seconds) and Evans in the 60-meter dash (8.25 seconds). On the men's side, third-place honorees included senior Jeremiah Edwards (Indianapolis/Lawrence North) in the 60-meter dash (7.11), senior Chris Good (Bloomington/Edgewood) in the high jump (6' 0"); and Hannan in the 200-meter dash (23.11 seconds).
The day also featured Boxell tying her own school record with a time of 9.84 seconds in the 60-meter high hurdles.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the DePauw University Invitational next Saturday in Greencastle.
