MEN'S RESULTS; WOMEN'S RESULTS

hannan-acGREENCASTLE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on two school records, three event victories and 18 top-five finishes to compile a strong performance at the DePauw University Track and Field Invitational on Saturday.

The men's squad placed second of 20 teams, and the women came home 10th of 15 teams in the event.

Senior Tyler Hannan (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark) led the Fightin' Engineers with a pair of top-two finishes.  Hannan won the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.94 seconds and also placed second in the 200 with a 22.81 second mark that ranks fifth in school history.

Senior Collin Crowson (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) added first place honors in the pole vault with a leap of 15' 1".  Senior Travis Stallings (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) also contributed first-place honors with a 200-meter dash time of 22.78 seconds that ranks fourth in school history.

Rose-Hulman placed second, third and fourth in the men's weight throw to contribute significantly to the team score.  Senior Greg Larmore (Deerfield, Ill.) came home second with a throw of 54' 8 1/4".  Senior Trey Cahill (Auburn/DeKalb) was third (50-2), and junior Andy Hunkeler (Kokomo/Northwestern) was fourth (50-1 3/4).

Sophomore Stuart West (La Porte) added a second-place effort in the mile run (4:22.71).

Third-place finishers on the men's side included senior Jeremiah Edwards (Indianapolis/Lawrence North) in the 60-meter dash (7.00 seconds), junior Andrew Thompson (Mundelin, Ill./Vernon Hills) in the mile run (4:23.57), and junior Nathan Catt (Greenwood/Center Grove) in the 800-meters (2:01.13).

Fourth-place men's finishers included Edwards in the 200-meter dash (23.04 seconds) and sophomore Jake Kelley (Tecumseh, Mich.) in the 400-meters (52.09).  The men's distance medley relay also came home fifth overall in 11:04.52.  Hunkeler rounded out the men's top-five finishers with a fifth in the shot put (41-11 1/4).

On the women's side, two school record performances led the effort.  The distance medley relay team of  junior Katherine Moravec (Seymour), junior Erin Cox (West Harrison/Franklin County), senior Creasy Clauser (Crawfordsville/Southmont) and junior Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery (Lafayette, La./Episcopal School of Acadia) placed second with a time of 12:57.87.

Senior Gloria Boxell (Zionsville/Covenant Christian) added a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.65 seconds for third place.  Clauser also came home third in the 200-meter dash in 27.14 seconds.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Defiance College next Saturday.
