HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 5-1
overall and 3-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play
with a 9-0 win over Defiance on Saturday.
Junior Marie Stettler (Edgerton, Wis./Senior), senior Melissa Montgomery (Alexandria/Monroe), junior Paige Cook (Terre Haute/North), sophomore Kylie McCollum (Lee's Summitt, Mo./West) and freshman Lauren Miller (Highland, Ill.) earned singles victories to pace Rose-Hulman's effort.
Doubles winners included the team of Stettler and Montgomery at No. 1; junior Lauren Reberger (Brazil/Northview) and sophomore Suzana Mohd (Puchong, Malaysia/Mara University) at No. 2; and Cook with sophomore Fallon Stinson (Brownstown/Central) at No. 3.
Rose-Hulman returns to action against IU-Southeast in a match at Franklin College on Sunday at noon.
