TERRE HAUTE, IND. --
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 3-1 on the season
with a 9-0 win over Bluffton University in the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference women's tennis opener on Saturday.
Sophomore Marie Stettler (Edgerton, Wis./Senior), junior Sage Sackett (Kalamazoo, Mich./Mattawan), junior Melissa Montgomery (Alexandria/Monroe), sophomore Paige Cook (Terre Haute/North) and freshman Kylie McCollum (Lee's Summitt, Mo./West) earned singles and doubles victories to pace Rose-Hulman's effort.
Sophomore Colleen Steveson (Bolton, Mass./Nashoba Regional) pitched in with a win at No. 4 singles, and sophomore Lauren Reberger (Brazil/Northview) contributed to the No. 3 doubles victory.
Rose-Hulman improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in HCAC play, while Bluffton dropped to 0-1. The Engineers return to varsity action on Wednesday with a home match against Anderson at 6 p.m.
