Men's Tennis Narrowly Falls in Season Opener

BenedictTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team battled in a tight 5-4 loss to Alma College in the season opener at the Wabash Valley Tennis Center on Saturday night.

Freshman Brandon Benedict (Indianapolis/Perry Meridian) and freshman Georges Adam (Barueri, Brazil/Colegio Pentagono) tallied three points for the Fightin' Engineers.  Benedict and Adam earned a victory at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions, after combining to win at the No. 1 doubles spot.

The doubles team of sophomore Matthew Conrad (Anderson/Lapel) and freshman Rafael Pereira Pedreira (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Centre Educational Niopolitano) added a victory at the No. 2 spot.

AdamRose-Hulman returns to action with matches against Simpson and Lewis & Clark in Bloomington, Ill., next weekend.
