Rose-Hulman Falls to Regionally Ranked Illinois Foes

Hendrickson1BLOOMINGTON, ILL. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology dropped a pair of matches to regionally ranked Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan by 6-3 scores on Sunday.

Rose-Hulman won singles matches at the four, five and six positions against the regionally ranked Vikings.  Sophomore Devon Fritz (Lakeside, Calif.), senior Seth Hendrickson (Crawfordsville) (pictured)  and senior Dallas Burton (Haughton, La./Louisiana Math and Science) claimed the individual wins.

Illinois Wesleyan also topped the Engineers by a 6-3 score.  Fritz and Hendrickson repeated the No. 4 and No. 5 singles wins, after Fritz and Burton claimed a No. 3 doubles victory.

Rose-Hulman stands 7-7 overall and has a 6-1 record in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.  Rose-Hulman is now tied for first in the league standings with Earlham and Transylvania after this weekend's league results.  The Engineers travel to Oakland City University on Tuesday.
