Gould Crosses 400-Point Mark at Diving Regional

gouldGRANVILLE, OHIO -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology sophomore Sam Gould (Greencastle/South Putnam) crossed the 400-point mark in one-meter diving for the first time in his career to lead a strong performance at the NCAA Division III Diving Regional at Denison University.

Gould recorded the second-best score in Rose-Hulman history with an 11-dive one-meter total of 404.25 points on Friday night.  His effort placed 18th in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region.

On Saturday, Gould compiled a score of 399.10 points to place 18th overall in the three-meter competition.  The sophomore also holds the second-best three-meter score in Rose-Hulman history.

Rose-Hulman swimmers Ellie Hong and Orion Martin qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming Nationals with performances at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships, and will represent the Fightin' Engineers in Indianapolis in mid-March.
